MY NBI Experience

April 25, 2012

This was the day I decided to get my NBI clearance. While I didn't have an immediate need for it, I had a friend who did. So for the lulz and thinking that I may need it in the future, I decided to tag along.

We arrived at Robinsons Metro East and was greeted by the sight of a long long line. It took a while but we figured out where the end of the line was and eventually got the numbers 399 and 400. It was a lucky break since that certain satellite office would only cater to 500 people. Though we had to wait till 11:45 to line up due to our numbers.

And wait we did.

We got ourselves some tasty lunch at KFC and bought tickets to the second to the last screening of the Avengers that day...in 3D!

11:45 came along faster than we expected and soon we were lining up, filling up forms, paying bills, getting our info encoded, get our picture taken and eventually line up for releasing.

My friend got her clearance easily but imagine my surprise when I didn't. I mean gosh...really? There was another Cigrid Erika V. Torres out there?

But long story short minus the mini inner rant, I was scheduled to come back May 14 to get my clearance and that was that.

The rest I decided to drown out by watching Avengers. Hmmmm Mark Rufallo~

I left my house at 10:30 and arrived at RP ME a few minutes later. I lined up for releasing since all I needed was my clearance. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it and I had to go to the NBI's main office for a "Quality Control".

I went home dismayed and started to look for directions to get there and what to do once I got there.

I immediately felt dread when I saw the stories that were online about people showing their bad experiences there. Fearing the worst, I went to bed to store up energy for the impending day ahead of me.

LRT from Santolan to Recto and LRT 1 from Doroteo Jose to United Nations Avenue. That was the route that I took to the NBI clearance.

Much to my surprise it wasn't that bad. People were nice and gave me directions as to where I should go. When the interview came a woman, God bless her, interviewed me and had me fill up forms.

Before I knew it I had my Clearance in my hands. It was completely hassle free. The whole process took less than an hour and there was no hitches at all. Imagine that.

Moral of the story? Never listen to internet stories, they're not true for everybody.

So I hope this blog entry makes people feel better about going to NBI taft for their clearances. :D
